As we mark the Rebbetzin’s birthday today, Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Bikur Cholim of Crown Heights recognizes the 300+ women and girls in our community who emulate the Rebbetzin’s unassuming compassion and selflessness in their ongoing volunteer work.
This year, 25 Adar marks the 116th birthday of our dear Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka. As our namesake, we take this day to celebrate the Rebbetzin’s life and reflect on her noble, caring, and unassuming character. No one better emulates the Rebbetzin’s compassion and selflessness than RCM Bikur Cholim’s volunteers, the community’s humble angels.
Under our new young leadership, RCM Bikur Cholim’s services have seen tremendous growth. Day in and day out over 300 women and girls volunteer and engage in tireless work on behalf of the community. Be it delivering home cooked meals, offering rides to doctors’ appointments, providing financial aid for medical necessities, helping mothers with newborns, joyous pre-yom tov programs for children affected by illness – our remarkable volunteers brings caring and kindness to thousands each year.
With every call, they respond like family – be it a one day crisis or one that stretches out over months. The volunteers seek no thanks, but they are deserving of more than words can give them credit for.
Please save the date and join us as we offer them our sincerest gratitude on behalf of the entire community. This year’s annual breakfast will take place on May 21, in the month of Iyar – the month of “Ani Hashem Rofecha.” We look forward to greeting you at the Oholei Torah Ballroom iy”h.
Today, in honor of the Rebbetzin’s birthday, let us all add in tzedaka and take a moment to say kapital chof for a refuah shlaima for all those in need. Please consider making a donation to our Bikur Cholim fund or Maos Chittim fund for families currently in crisis. www.BikurCholimCH.com
May we merit to see the end to all illness and suffering with the coming of Moshiach speedily in our days. Amen!
