On Motzei Shabbos, Jan. 7th, the Mesivta of Clifton, NJ temporary dormitory burned down due to a malfunctioning boiler.
The boys in the dorm are B”H fine. However, all clothing and possessions in the Dorm were completely ruined by the fire, leaving at least a few thousand dollars in damage.
These possessions are not covered by insurance. Please help us with whatever donation you can.
Thank You!
Sincerely,
The Bochurim of 58 Bond Street

Just help them out. Amazing Hashgacha protis that you were away!
Even if there is coverage under their parents’ homeowners policy, there is probably a nice-sized deductible(could be $1000 or more)!
I think the yeshiva should be held accountable since it was a old boiler that started the fire
it was my classes dorm that burnt down the fire started due to a old boiler that has no automatic shut off so it exploded b”h we were not in yeshiva for shabbos like most weeks and the guys who lost clothes are not getting reinbursed from yeshiva please help
How did the fire start?
Each bocher should be claiming from their home insurance.
If there parents have home owners insurance policy it will cover there possessions while away at school
Also some renters policy’s provide the same coverage.
BH no on e was hurt… But…
It is time all institutions schools and camps realize that maintenance and the safety of our children is not a game
This was a situation that could have been avoided
We need there to be standards
BS”D A Bocher assumes his stuff is insured as it ought to be, the Yeshiva ought to reimburse them not that they have to raise the funds themselves, their time is to be spent learning and Mivtzoim
But BH the boys are unharmed.
Can an agent answer…Wouldnt the damage to personal items be covered under their parents homeowner’s or renters insurance policy?
Is the Yeshiva not paying for the damage?
Count your blessings!!
It took so long for the firemen to get started & it seemed like there weren’t enough fire hoses to do the job. I don’t know that just what it looked like.
Omg, this is so scary
Depending on the individual policy, most home owner policies do cover a certain amount of property that is not ‘home’. The Bochurim should check with their parents and see if their homeowner policies will cover their lost property. Good luck!
Oy vey. What yeshiva is this
Many years ago when there was a fire in my dorm room and I lost many of my possessions my parents insurance covered the loss and paid out full replacement cost
