Chabad UK launched its newly designed sukkah in the City this year and packed it to the rims at all its events during Chol Hamoed.
New Street Square EC4 has hosted a Chabad sukkah for the last 5 years, kindly supported by City firms and individuals.
Two lunches, a private breakfast and ‘Tikkahs in the Sukkah’ with live music event for Young Jewish London kept the Square buzzing with local business workers and visitors from out of town.
Food was in abundance, men stayed for minchah davening and you could just pop in for a cup of tea and a danish throughout the mornings and afternoons – some even got together for informal business meetings.
The partners in the City included Deloitte, Investec, Weil Gotshals and Manges, Taylor Wessig, Bolt Asset Management, Mishcon de Reya, Herbert Smith Lovells, Charles Russell Speechly, DLA Piper. The decoration of the sukkah with the white orchid theme throughout was created by Absolute Flowers and Home.
Described by many as “fabulous”, “stunning” and “amazing”, the favorite was “it is like walking into Gan Eden!” and it truly was, said organizers.
