every year millions of yidden sit down to the seder reading the hagada which includes both our suffering in mitzrayim (3300+ years ago) and our geula from mitzrayim
we mark rosh chodesh kislev as a great yom tov that the aibershter gave the rebbe gezunt for so many more years and so in order to properly feel how great the nes is we need to go back and relieve the events
