Rabbi Avraham Shemtov, Chairman of Agudas Chassidei Chabad International and Head Shliach of Philadelphia and Washington, DC, led a late-night farbrengen for many Yeshiva bochurim.
Held on Thursday night in the Vaad Hatmimim Sukkah across 770 Eastern Parkway, bochurim spent hours listening to Rabbi Shemtov share insights and inspiration.
Speaking to the youngsters who came from around the globe to spend Tishrei at 770 and the Ohel, Rabbi Shemtov shared precious moments he merited with the Rebbe.
“Without our choosing, we were placed in the ‘Dor Hashvi’i,” he said. “We are connected to the ‘head’ – our Rebbe whether we feel it or not. Nothing can exsist without the head.”
Joining the fabrengen were visitors to Crown Heights from other frum Jewish neighborhood who were thrilled to be allowed to participate and listen in.
In between singing niggunim, Rabbi Shemtov spoke about the personal care the Rebbe had to bochurim and chassidim.
Participates remained awake and attentive for the duration of the farbrengen, despite spending a full day in Mivtzoim in New York City and later dancing at Simchas Beis Hashoeva.
Being told how special their role is, bochurim at one point started dancing with Rabbi Shemtov to the tune of the niggun “Ashreinu Ma Tov Chelkeinu” – how lucky we are…
