This past Sunday, September 25th, Chabad of Brooklyn Heights had a booth in the Atlantic Antic, the oldest and largest street fair in Brooklyn, New York.
The 42nd annual festival spans four neighborhoods (Boerum Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill and Downtown Brooklyn) and attracts not only Brooklynites but also people from the tri-state area and quite a lot of Israeli tourists.
The booth was placed in front of the new Brooklyn Heights Jewish Academy (BHJA) building and gave out literature that promoted the wonderful new school, as well as calendars and brochures that promoted services and programs for the upcoming high holidays.
Rabbis’ Aaron L. Raskin and Yankel Raskin wrapped teffilin and blew the shofar for many passersby who were delighted to be able to fulfill the mitzvah and Minhag.
Marina Pinkhasik, Chaya Raskin, Raizy Chein, Danit Abramson, and Sheli Man-Steinberg gave out the BHJA literature, helped children color in Shana Tovah cards, and handed out headphones with the school emblem.
Apples and honey was given out to all the people who wanted to share in the sweetness of the upcoming New Year.
Michael Bast, a US Chess Federation rated expert and the BHJA chess teacher, and BHJA first grader Zalmy Raskin, along with other BHJA students and those who came to Atlantic Antic, played and practiced their chess.
Really nice, Yasher Choach, Hatzlacha Rabba with the beautiful new school and the great Mitzoim done at the neighborhood street festival! Good G’Benchted Year, you’re doing very well to help Moshiach become reality! Kol HaKovod!
Way to go Yankel Raskin! Getting it done!
