U.S. presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are set to face each on Monday for their first and pivotal national debate hoping to sway an already tied electorate.
They might get useful advice from Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as he meets separately with the political rivals.
A master communicator, Netanyahu is in New York for the United Nations General Assembly. During a speech there, he said the U.N. was founded as a moral voice but has turned into a “moral farce.”
On Sunday, Netanyahu spent an hour with the Republican hopeful at Trump’s residence in Trump Tower. The two have known each other for many years and had the opportunity to discuss many topics important to both countries, Trump’s office said.
Trump and the Prime Minister discussed the special relationship between America and Israel and the unbreakable bond between the two countries. The topics of military assistance, security and regional stability were addressed.
Trump agreed that the military assistance provided to Israel and missile defense cooperation with Israel are an excellent investment for America, a press released said.
Trump recognized Israel as a vital partner of the United States in the global war against radical Islamic terrorism. They discussed at length the nuclear deal with Iran, the battle against ISIS and many other regional security concerns.
Mr. Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu discussed at length Israel’s successful experience with a security fence that helped secure its borders. They discussed Israel’s burgeoning hi-tech and biotech economy and how it has made stunning advances improving and saving lives around the world. In particular, Trump noted Israel’s emergence as a world leader in cyber defense and security and its cooperation with the United States in this regard.
Trump recognized that Israel and its citizens have suffered far too long on the front lines of Islamic terrorism. He agreed with Netanyahu that the Israeli people want a just and lasting peace with their neighbors, but that peace will only come when the Palestinians renounce hatred and violence and accept Israel as a Jewish State.
Finally, Trump acknowledged that Jerusalem has been the eternal capital of the Jewish People for over 3000 years, and that the United States, under a Trump administration, will finally accept the long-standing Congressional mandate to recognize Jerusalem as the undivided capital of the State of Israel.
The Democratic candidate is expected to meet with Netanyahu in the early evening.
Doesn’t matter who’s the next american president, our king (הקב”ה) , will always be the same !!!
Hillary Clinton is another Obama, and she is not a friend to Isreal, I always voted Democrat but not this time, that smile of hers is so fake
In the picture is SO FAKE
U can tell she HATES Israel
Heaven help us in these next four years because either way whoever wins we are screwed…
But when you hear the stupidity/ignorance/childish/lies coming out of Donald Trump’s mouth, I have no choice but to wish for Hilary to win this election.
How in the world can anyone think of voting for hillary? It will be as if obama never left. How in the world can anyone want more obama care? Why is USA fighting in syria’s war? She hasn’t shown her policies are different than obama. Do we need millions of terrorists brought to the USA? Do we need higher taxes? Do we need Israel pressured to give back land? Hillary is corrupt and a threat to national security. Look what she did in benghazi and her email scandal
Hillary was best friends with Suha Arafat (all the pics of them embracing are online), until he became even better friends with her chief of staff Huma Abadin, a Muslim who is NOT a friend of Israel. So you can continue your fantasy about Hillary’s pro Israel credentials. You probably also believe she is a model of good health.
They’re both doing damage the question is who’s going to be worse
Right… that “great friend of Israel” who publicly kissed Mrs. Arafat, right?
trump will do more damage than clinton
You are joking. Right?
Please say you are. That you WILL NOT vote for HELLry
To the 3rd grade of Beis Rivka, writers of the above comments. Bibi met with Hillary because Hillary will be the next president and because Hillary is a great friend of Israel, being a classic liberal of the old school.
Hillary is to the right of Obama concerning foreign policy, is more of a hawk concerning Islamic militants and international realpolitik civility required that Bibi meet both candidates.
should be interesting
BS”D by tomorrow night we will know who the next President of the United Startes of America is. G-d knows we need one as we have been without one for the past 8 years. K’Siva v’ Chasima Tova L’Shana Tova u’ Masuka to you and your Mishpachas.
much happier in the gold place
Trump says he will recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s rightful capital.
But will he actually do it, once he is in office, if he wins?
Of course we know Hillary never will, and Trump MIGHT.
But campaign promises, are no guarantee.
he isn’t dumb enough to support one candidate. for obvious reasons
just to look fair, and what will it hurt? heaven forbid that she wins
Why is he meeting with Clinton I thought he’s on the republican side??!!
