Update:
Ahmad Rahami, whom officials have identified as a suspect in the New York and New Jersey bombings, is now in custody after shooting a police officer in Linden, New Jersey, reported NBC.
The officer has non life-threatening injuries, a senior official told NBC News. Two sources said Rahami had also been shot and is en route to a hospital.
Bombings in New York and New Jersey over the weekend — as well as the discovery of several unexploded devices — have led authorities to believe there may be a terror cell at work in those two states, law enforcement officials told CNN Monday.
Officials want to question Ahmad Khan Rahami because they believe he is the man seen in surveillance videos rolling a duffel bag near the scene of the bombing in Chelsea, according to multiple officials.
New Yorkers will see an increased police presence around the city this week, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said.
Heightened security across the city is common as world leaders arrive for the UN General Assembly meeting, which is under way.
But after the Chelsea bombing, Gov. Cuomo said 1,000 additional New York State Police officers and National Guard troops will be deployed to patrol bus terminals, airports and subway stations.
“You should know you will see a very substantial NYPD presence this week — bigger than ever,” de Blasio said.

The NYPD announced Monday that it is searching for a suspect in the explosion in the Chelsea section of Manhattan Saturday night that injured 29 people.
A photo of Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28, was released.
An FBI notice states that Rahami is “armed and dangerous” and is wanted for questioning in connection with the explosion on September 17, 2016.
Rahami is a 28 year old United States citizen of Afghan descent, with a last known address in Elizabeth, NJ.
If seen, call 911.
Several other people are being questioned by police including five men who were pulled over in Brooklyn Sunday night and took the occupants to an FBI building for questioning.
29 people were hurt, one seriously, after an explosion in the Chelsea area of Manhattan on Saturday night. The first reports came in just before 8:30 via social media. People reported hearing what sounded like a large blast.
At a news conference late Saturday night the NYPD reported that an area on 27th St. between 6th and 7th was being investigated for another possible crime scene in connection with the blast. The NYPD reported early Sunday that the device had been removed and taken to the department firing range in the Bronx.
Police had earlier advised residents on the block where the second device was found to stay away from windows facing 27th Street.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo held a news conference on Sunday morning to update the investigation. He said that the evidence from the bomb was sent to Quantico, Virginia for analysis by the FBI.
“There is no evidence of an international terrorism connection,” Cuomo said.
“As governor of New York, this is my worst nightmare,” Cuomo said in announcing that 1,000 National Guardsmen would be deployed to the public transportation system for Monday’s commute as a precaution.
its interesting that no one has mentioned that the blast ocurred on the block of Touro College in Manhattan, on 23rd and 6th ave… Hashem Yerachem, thank G-d not during motzei shabbos

That is the belief of their fanatics, but a significant number of them are just that!
Of course this is occupied territory. Their beliefs are to conquer the world (occupied territories) and make it into one big Califate ideally.
He’s not of afghani descent! He immigrated from Afghanistan. He is an Afghani with American citizenship. I never heard an Israeli living in US be referred to as “an American of Israeli descent”. He is an Israeli living in America and some Are Israelis with US citizenship. A government can’t redefine your background. They can grant you a citizenship but that’s it.
No not a terrorist….. Really?.. This is his education!!!! This is his “ideology”!!!!!
Do u think he was just bored!!! We have hundreds of thousands of them walking around America, wanting to destroy us!! It’s not Israel anymore, are we also ocuupying Muslim territory!!
