A Jewish residence on Carroll Street between New York and Nostrand Avenues in the Crown Heights neighborhood was burglarized Friday night, and thanks to some quick work by Shmira and NYPD two were arrested.
Shabbos morning, the family awoke to find their house had been broken into, and silver valuables, cell phones, and an ipad were taken.
Shmira volunteers were called, who tracked the cell phone through the “find my phone” app.
After tracing the phone to a nearby location, the NYPD were called, who quickly arrived and apprehended two 14 year old individuals.
The iPhone and ipad were recovered, as well as a knife and a small amount of drugs, in their possession.
The perps are currently in custody and charged with possession of stolen property and narcotics, police said.
Police are currently investigating whether these 2 individuals are responsible for a string of burglaries in recent months on Carroll Street in Crown Heights, a source told COLlive.
“The investigation is far from over, but it is a major development in the Jewish burglary,” a Police spokesperson said.
This is the second arrest in the past week which was aided by the help of Shmira volunteers.
On Wednesday, surveillance video from the intersection of Albany Avenue and Eastern Parkway led a Shmira volunteer to recognize and detain a youth who was wanted for 4 armed robberies.

Thank you Shmira for looking out for us, but the Juveniles will only get a slap on the wrist so they can be out to do it again, to other famalies, our justice system looks like it works for the criminals not for the working class citizens
