Anash of Dniepr head back to their Shlichus from a refreshing vacation at a summer resort on the Black Sea coast, where, as in the days of the Midbar, no one had to walk far for his meals, which were all delicious and plentiful.
There was a rich program of Torah shiurim, preparing the Shluchim to return home ready for another year of inspiring Shlichus.
One highlight of the retreat was a Chassidic music concert, produced and performed by the Shliach and Mechanech, the guitarist, Rabbi Menachem Kurzweil, in cooperation with the Yaldei Hashluchim who provided musical accompaniment drumming and singing.
A repertoire of old and new Chassidic Nigunim in Hebrew and Russian had everyone singing and clapping late into the night.
During the days of vacation, there were a number of shiurim for the women.
Rabbi Moshe Forlender spoke about “the meaningful secret behind morning blessings,” the Shlucha Mrs. Yeudit Baram gave a lesson on the weekly parsha, as did the Shliach Rabbi Aryeh Nizevitz.
A discussion was held about the Jewish family with the Shliach Rabbi Elisha Pavlotzki, and the Shlucha Mrs. Devorah Forlender led a workshop on self-acceptance.
The young Shlucha, Rivka Kurzweil presented Mrs. Tali Avrahami’s meaningful movie “The Fence”, and on the Shabbos before Yud Beis Tammuz, there was a Farbrengen with the Shluchos with words of Torah from Mrs. Rima Margolin and Mrs. Miriam Tereshkevitz. Mrs. Tzipi Nachshon then led the Seder Nigunim.
On Yud Beis Tammuz, Mrs. Asia Zaikinah organized a Farbrengen for the women with Rabbi Akiva Romanovsky who told stories from the Rebbe Rayatz, followed by a girl’s chorus with Nigunim under the direction of the young Shlucha, Rivka Kurzweil, and the presentation of the youngest Yaldei HaShluchim with stories of the Previous Rebbe, directed by Mrs. Masha Goldenberg.
Later in the week, Personal Coach, Ms. Tanya Gaft presented a seminar on self-awareness. Participants are looking forward to the next meeting.
And what were the men doing while the women were so busy?
They were submerged in davening, learning -in groups, chavrusos and alone.
They rested, swam in the sea and in the pool, enjoyed quality time with their children, and Farbrenged a lot!
During the long Farbrengens, lasting until very late at night, they discussed the Shlichus in Dniepr and decided on ways to strengthen and add activities. The changes will be felt in the city very soon…
The Odessa- Dnieper train last Thursday, filled up again with Lubavitcher Chassidim, happy and relaxed, full of praise and thanksgiving to the Almighty for this golden opportunity of a dream vacation.
We would like to thank the generous member of our Dniepr Jewish community, Mr. Nathan Zolotorevski and his partner Mr. Abba Yodashkin for sponsoring the Achdus vacation, and the Chief Rabbi of Dnieper, Head Shliach Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki, who took this huge project under his leadership.
The Shluchim Rabbi Zelig and Mrs. Leah Brez, oversaw the “Achdus” vacation project from the planning stages through to its finale. Thank you!
What a beautiful initiative and so important for the appreciation and effort all these Shluchim do for their communities day in and out. Truly impressive. The organizers should be blessed bakol mikol kol.
