300 Bochurim participating in the pioneering ‘Vehogisa’ program gathered last week in a Siyum Masechta.
Sitting around round tables, the Bochurim packed into the Zal in Oholei Torah expertly set up and organized.
The Siyum on Masechta Suka was made by Mendel Serebryanski of the Lubavitch Mesivta of Chicago.
Siyum of Masechta Bova Basra was made by Mendel Fischer of the Mesivta in Montreal.
First to address the participants was Rabbi Leima Willhelm – one of the founders of the Mivtza, who regaled the Bochurim with his warm words of encouragement, and pushed them to ensure that they learn the Rebbe’s Torah with the same Chayus.
Rabbi Willhelm also made note of the special Mivtza Hakhel Betoras Rabeinu from the Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim.
After the prize giving for the Bochurim in the first two levels, the assembled were addressed by the director of the ‘Igud,’ Rabbi Mendel Itzinger.
“A Daf Gemora – in and of itself is important – and is the greatest connection one can have with the Eibishter. But know this – that not only have you learned more, each Bochur has lifted himself, and now his entire Avoda is lifted, his Davening is better, his Hiskashrus is better,” Rabbi Itzinger said.
After the Siyum on the entire Bova Basra, the crowd burst into dance with the Simcha of Gemora Shel Torah.
Rabbi A. D. Gancz began his address: “so much is made of the issues in chinuch today. Dear Bochurim and parents – this [Mivtza] is the answer to the problem.”
Music was provided by Yossi Cohen and the Menagnim Choir.
