Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch of Montreal, also known as the Rabbinical College of Quebec, has announced the addition of a new member to its staff ahead of the next school year.
Rabbi Sholom Ber Sheingarten, who taught at the Chabad Yeshiva in his hometown of Buenos Aires, Argentina and at the Tzeirei Hashluchim Yeshiva in Tzfas, Israel, will fill 2 roles.
Officially named as a new Mashpia who will teach Chassidus to Montreal’s bochurim and lead farbrengens, the newlywed rabbi will also be teaching ‘nigleh’ – Gemara indicating the Yeshiva’s confidence in his abilities and range of knowledge.
“He is known as a yungerman that is filled with chayus and chassidus and especially his sensitivity and devotion to approaching young bochurim and help them overcome all the different challenges of this generation,” said the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Leibel Kaplan.
The Yeshiva is the founding chapter of the Tomchei Tmimim network in North America and has been a beacon of Chassidic warmth and scholarship for generations thanks to a lineup of unique Chassidic personalities that headed the respected institution.
Sheingarten’s father-in-law Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh Gurary served as a Mashpia in the Yeshiva and his grandfather-in-law is Rabbi Itche Meir Gurary, the long-time Mashpia Kloli who oversees the entire Chassidus curriculum.
The Yeshiva’s administration includes Rabbi Mordechai Wenger (Menahel), Rabbi Moshe Stern and Rabbi Moshe Nosson Fischer as Maggidei Shiur and Rabbi Sholom Ber Cohen as Mashpia.
