Chabad of Frankfurt, Germany celebrated the completion of a new Torah with a grand celebration in a historic Synagogue.
The Torah was dedicated by Vladi Izraelit, in memory of Lev ben Grishah Izraelit and in honor of Chabad of Frankfurt as it celebrates the 15th year of the Yeshivah Gedola.
The event began at the historic West-End Synagogue, one of 2 shuls that survived World War II. Friends, Rabbis and community leaders joined for the writing of the final letters, with many of the Yeshiva Gedola’s alumni in attendance as well, who traveled from throughout Germany and Europe to participate.
With music and dancing the Torah was carried thought the streets of the city to the Shteible (a Side Shul in the West-End Synagogue), where the Yeshiva is located, and lively Hakafos were held.
A Seuda catered by Sohar Catering followed, as the Shluchim, bochurim and community members rejoiced with the new Torah.
“A Simcha like this was never seen in Frankfurt, it was like a wedding!” said one community leader who was in attendance.

My father A”H was a Nazi refugee from “Yekkeland.” I look at the Yekkishe faces mixed with the Chassidishe faces and feel like crying from joy. So beautiful to see a new Torah being celebrated in Frankfurt!!! From your celebration to the Geula Shlaima!
