The DNA of Crown Heights resident Rabbi Yosef Raksin was found in a vehicle linked to his accused murderer Deandre Charles, a 14-year-old black male nicknamed “Big Boy.”
The announcement was made by Miami prosecutors ahead of the trial over the murder of Raksin on his way to shul on a Shabbos morning during a visit to his daughter’s family in Northeast Miami-Dade.
Prosecutor Michael Van Zamft said Deandre and a cohort ran from the scene and escaped in a waiting Cadillac SUV driven by another man — a vehicle they believe was at the scene of a nearby robbery earlier that morning, The Miami Herald reported.
Police also claim Deandre’s DNA was recovered from pieces of the firearm used to kill the rabbi that were left at the scene, though the gun itself has never been recovered, the newspaper said.
Reporter Charles Rabin wrote that the “intensity was so thick” at the bond hearing on Wednesday that attendees were passed through metal detectors.
A witness who lives next the crime scene is said to have spoke to Raksin moment after he was shot. Asked who shot him, Raksin responded, ‘It was two black males’, according to Detective Michael Brajdic.
Deandre’s family claims he was at home at the time of the murder. His attorney is Adam Goodman.
As mentioned, Deandre was found in the Cadillac a few days later. Prosecutors said his DNA was found on the inside rear passenger door handle, mixed with Raksin’s.
it looks like the boy’s family still teaches him that killing is ok by covering his crime. what kind of future will this young man have?
Adam goodman is his lawyer?? Interesting
Apparently at the time of the crime he was 14 but is now 15.
He was 14 when he killed Rabbi Raksin. Now he is 15.
Hashem when will Moshiacb come? Ad Mosai!
People who cover up for murderers are similar to murderers themselves!
So much pain & loss

Terrible, now words, i’m so sorry for the familys pain and loss and happy the police found the evidence they needed to go ahead and prosecute this little monster
Look down it seed he was 15 and now he is 14??????
