This Rabbi Has His Own App

Learning with the master teacher Rabbi Yehoshua B. Gordon just got easier.

Rabbi Gordon’s daily Torah classes recorded at his Chabad of the Valley in Encino, California, are viewed by tens of thousands, according to Chabad.org which broadcasts them.

Chabad.org’s app team released a new Android app featuring Rabbi Gordon’s classes on the daily portions in Chumash with Rashi, Tanya and Rambam.

With simple tabs, where users can access each of the rabbi’s 3 daily classes, the app creates a seamless learning experience, with the rabbi’s daily videos in one place for easy viewing.

His precise explanations and lucid delivery have brought the joy of Torah study to students around the world.

I’m grateful for Rabbi Gordon’s kind, loving patience that shines through his elucidations of the most abstract concepts and humble humor that helps give over the content,” says Zevulun Brewer, a rice farmer in Thailand who tunes in daily.

The Rabbi Gordon App is being released with a prayerful wish for a complete and speedy recovery for Yehoshua Binyomin ben Miriam.

“May the merit of the thousands of hours of Torah study he enables plead before the heavenly throne on his behalf,” say the delopment staff of Chabad.org’s growing suite of Jewish Apps.

Rabbi Gordon says that he was motivated to teach by the example his late father, Rabbi Sholom B. Gordon, has set by teaching in his synagogue in New Jersey every day for nearly 60 years. “I guess you can say it’s in my DNA,” he says.

“Imagine if the Internet would have been accessible then as it is now; the world would have been able to study with him,” he says. “There are many scholars more learned than myself, but I’ve been given the gift of clarity, the ability to make things simple and understandable.”

Rabbi Gordon added that “one of my greatest joys comes from hearing from people who tell me that they learn with me regularly, and that they now understand better than they did before.”

Now, with the new app for the Android available on Google Play, many more will be able to learn and understand.
