Mendy Rivkin, the 36-year-old Lubavitcher who was severely wounded in a terrorist stabbing arrack in Jerusalem last week, woke up on Friday.
He was rushed to the ICU unit of the Shaarei Tzedek medical center last Wednesday after he was chased by a terrorist and stabbed with a knife.
His wife Brochi Rivkin, who was with him at the time, said: “We went out of the car and within a moment, my husband tells me, ‘I was stabbed’. It happened so fast.”
Mendy Rivkin was hospitalized in critical condition. “The doctor said that had the knife gone on more millimeter it would have hit the heart,” his wife said. “I don’t want to say what would happen…”
On Friday morning, Mendy Rivkin woke up and told family members around his bed that “I thank Hashem for this big miracle.”
Over Shabbos, Tehillim was said in merit of his recovery in Chabad synagogues around Israel and the world.
On Sunday morning, Mendy Rivkin was already sitting up and able to put on a Tallis and Tefillin and daven.
“We ask the public to continue davening for Menachem Mendel ben Chana Yehudis,” his wife added.
