Mrs. Henny Brandman of Chabad Buckhurst Hill helped bring smiles and delights to the faces of many elderly people at Jewish Cares Vi Johns Old Age Home as a group of ladies visited with their babies and young children to entertain and speak to some of the residents.
Aided by Bassie Sacks, Program Director at Chabad Buckhurst Hill, the group met up with many residents, allowed them to hold their babies and gave them time to speak about their families and lives. They met some special people including an 103 and 107 year old. The group was extremely well received and the mothers all said that they felt so good about the visit they would like to arrange more such visits other than just for Mitzvah Day.
Mitzvah Day is a large scale international project, originating in the UK which brings together many communities across the country and now starting to spread across the world, where people dedicate some extra time to doing extra Mitzvahs bringing some more goodness and kindness to the world.
