Avraham David, a rising Jewish singer from the French city of Strasbourg, is releasing his debut album, called Yahalom/Diamond, in both the United States and Israel.
David has been singing with his father since the age of 4, who taught him about the world of Chazzanus as well.
His musical connection grew and developed, and he taught himself to play piano, as well as drums and percussion instruments. As time went on, he also developed a love for guitar and saxophone as well. Slowly but surely he developed his own unique musical genre, and began to compose his own music.
After he got married, he began building a concert and event calendar, around his city of Strasbourg at first, which enabled him to begin traveling around the rest of Europe as well, such as Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, England, and France.
Every year he leads the Yomim Noraim prayers in one of Los Angeles’ largest Shuls.
In 2010 he participated in the world wide Jewish Star singing competition in New York where he was in the top 3 finalists, and beating out hundreds of competitors.
Immediately after winning the second place Avraham released his debut single, “Haleluka” and went on to perform together with Avraham Fried in 2011 and as well with Yaakov Shwekey a few months later.
His home in the middle of the continent enables him to perform all over Europe in the religious communities in Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, and obviously France as well.
In 2012, Avraham released a single “Acheinu” that he composed in memory of the victims of Toulouse.
In 2013 the single “TEKA” was released with a music video.
In June of 2015, David’s single “Shimi Li” from his new album became a hit on Israeli Radio.
Levik Tobol produced and designed the new album, and it was composed by Moshe Laufer, Yitzy Waldner and Avraham David himself.
Most of the album was arranged by Moshe Laufer, and the rest by Yoni Eliav, Shai Barak, and Udi Damari. Ken Burgess and Miriam Israeli also added to the lyrics on the album.
The title track, Yahalom/Diamonds, is performed in two different versions on the album, one in Hebrew, and one in English.
