Machon Chana Women’s Yeshiva is moving forward into the new year by moving its classes back into the original building purchased for the Machon Chana school at 823-825 Eastern Parkway.
Rabbi Shloma Majeski, principal of Machon Chana for over three decades, announced the move, which comes following a year of Machon Chana once again being a division of the National Committee for the Furtherance of Jewish Education. As is well known, the Rebbe appointed Rabbi J. J. Hecht o.b.m. to be the Zevulun of Machon Chana.
Rabbi Shea Hecht, a member of the executive committee of NCFJE shared, “I believe it is especially fitting that this reconnection is fully blossoming at the cusp of the Hakhel year.”
A special Melave Malka in honor of Rebbetzin Chana, Machon Chana’s namesake, is slated for Motzei Shabbos Vov Tishrei (September 19). All women and girls in the community will be invited to the event which will also be a rededication of the Machon Chana school building.
Rabbi Majeski also announced that Rabbi Mordechai and Mrs. Chana Nemni will be the dorm parents of the Machon Chana dorm at 1367 President Street. Mrs. Nechama Chanin, the Gansburgs’ daughter noted, “Im yirtzeh Hash-m the Nemnis will continue the legacy of my parents in the Machon Chana dorm.” To this end, Mrs. Nemni has been speaking with Machon Chana madrichos from previous years. As well, she has been meeting with Mrs. Laya Klein, who was involved with Machon Chana from its earliest years, and who will be helping out and involved with the Machon Chana students once again.
School begin on August 31 to give students time to learn about and prepare for the upcoming Tishrei holidays. Machon Chana students this year hail from throughout the United States as well as from Spain, Israel, Russia, Venezuela, Uruguay, and France.
Machon Chana students start their day with Chasidus at 8:30 a.m. taught by Rabbi Dovid Sholom Pape and Rabbi Majeski. Following Chasidus is halacha taught by Rabbi Yitzchok Hanoka, Rabbi Yaakov Osdoba, Rabbi Chaim Schochet and Rabbi Binyamin Baras.
Other classes throughout the day up until 3:00 p.m. include the 13 Principles of Faith with Rabbi Yitzchak Dubov, Sichos with Rabbi Yossi Paltiel, Mrs. Chana Nemni and Mrs. Shterna Spritzer, Chumash with Mrs. Rivky Perlstein, Mrs. Mirele Lazaroff and Mrs. Rivky Raskin, and Novi with Mrs. Zeesy Paimenta. So proud am I that I can say full heartedly…I was there 1994
Thank you to the fantastic Rabbi Majesty, and dear sweet rabbi Wadowski may he rest in peace…who were so kind in any way and everyday. Never judging, never making me feel like i knew from nothing, always kind and straight talking. No fancy words, everything straight from their hearts. Today my children know how to speak to their Gd because of rabbis in Machon chana. The jewish people continue because of the teachers and Rabbis of machine Chana. Gd bless you and from my heart, thank you.
