A new cooperative that will unite the Chabad Mesivtas around the world will be called Igud Mesivtas V’Yeshivaos Lubavitch – Association of Lubavitch Mesivtas and Yeshivas.
It is being created by the Merkos Chinuch Office, under the auspices of Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, the educational arm of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement.
Appointed by Merkos to run Igud Mesivtas is Rabbi Menachem Mendel Itzinger, Mashpia at the Lubavitch Mechina L’Yeshiva (Mesivta) in London, England, for the last 8 years.
Rabbi Itzinger’s shlichus will address a wide variety of projects to serve all talmidim, with a special eye upon those who may need assistance. He will work toward developing programs to foster a spirit of cooperation among the mesivtas, to provide learning materials through which they will be able to help all talmidim thrive.
“Rabbi Itzinger is perfectly suited to this important undertaking, having spent years in the hanahala, he understands the talmidim and knows their needs. I think all mesivtas and their talmidim stand to benefit tremendously,” said Rabbi Nochem Kaplan, Director of the Merkos Chinuch Office who will oversee the Igud’s operations.
As reported on COLlive.com, Rabbi Itzinger has already launched a number of programs to involve parents in their son’s learning such as velimadtem which helps fathers keep abreast of their sons’ progress. A number of new initiatives are planned for this coming zman.
Merkos said Mesivtas are considered to be the most successful segment of Chabad Chinuch with many talmidim who are developing very well in learning and behavior. The yeshivas may justly be proud of their development and they are doing their utmost to inspire talmidim to maximize their potential.
While every Mesivta is doing its very best, Rabbi Kaplan notes, not every individual Mesivta can cater to the needs of every talmid and there are a considerable number of talmidim who are struggling and many not maximizing their full potential.
Through pooling the cooperative efforts and the talents of the mechanchim within of all our Mesivtas the likelihood of reaching all talmidim in all mosdos, will be tremendously increased, Rabbi Kaplan said.
Rabbi Itzinger is an excellent Mechanech. I wish him all the best.
His success will be the success of our children!
It is illegal to give alcohol to a child under 16 years of age. We need to be very careful.
I hope they relate to all bochurim Not just the Metzuyonim, low hanging fruit, who in truth don’t need their assistance. Sadly, Many of the Staff of Yeshivas opt to only let in the easy bochurim to their mosdos. While in others, the Mashpiim only relate to the small selection of Bochurim who share their personality. This leaves the vast majority of bochurim to float through the system, or worse CH”V. Wasting away precious years of thousands of Bochurim. This approach that is foreign to everything the Rebbe stood for and is the opposite of the modus operandi of every… Read more »
Thank you Rabbi Kaplan for making such a great project to help these bochhrim that just need someone to help guide them which place would be best for them. Will be best benefited by the bochrim lots of hatzlocha to rabbi itzinger
1. Give your email & Tel. so a parent, teacher or teen can reach you.
2. Discuss a plan in each yeshiva for the bottom 10% at risk bochurim.
3. Know who to recommend and how to go about acquiring good religious professional help.
When working together more can be accomplished, and standards can be set across the board. Such as: 1)No alcohol untill 18, stop introducing the concept to youth that it’s OK to drink. 2)If someone isn’t progressing in his studies, a different yeshivah with a lower level should be recommended, and dont just give a bad report to a potentisl new yeshivah and told to not come back. 3)Don’t ruin the students future by taking his pell grant without his knowledge of the consequences. 4)somehow lower the exorbitant fees which just rise for no apparent reason for a Non accredited high… Read more »
The constant consolidation of Mosdos, Mesivtas etc. can be very detrimental, similiar to this modern idea of a “System”
Wishing everyone great hatzlacha with this vital work.
A good start would be to remove the bottle of Smirnoff out of the picture!

Very nice may u very successful in everything and כל הכבוד
It would be wonderful if all the Chabad yeshivos, seminaries, and schools shared at least a minimum required program so there would not be so much discrepancy in learning levels.
Wishing Rabbi Mendy Hatzlochoh Rabbo in this tremendous and vital undertaking.

Check out Yeshiva Orach Chaim in Boro Park. THEY know how to help bochurum that need extra help with their learning
My son learned by him and I couldn’t be happier with the results. This is really great news. Yasher Koach to Merkos for arranging this!
He is a top mechanech – exceptionally dedicated and talented.
It would be so wonderful for all Chabad Yeshivos, seminaries, and schools to at least share a basic program and not have such a vast difference in learning levels.
Rabbi Itzinger is fabulous!
I hope they include ALL Chabad Mesivtas regardless of political affiliations.
So proud to hear the official announcement.
