Mrs. Chaya Feigel Tiechtel, a resident of Jerusalem, Israel, passed away at the age of 92, early Thursday morning, 15 Tammuz 5775.
She was the matriarch of the greater Tiechtel family, the youngest of 11 children and the only remaining of them all – the last of that generation.
Three of her siblings were killed in the Nazi holocaust while the other 7 went on to build large families. She was a true woman of valor, one who was dedicated in her heart and soul to her husband for over 68 years of marriage.
Mrs. Tiechtel was involved in several charitable causes that helped needy Jewish families in Jerusalem, and many were given discreetly. There were always people knocking at her door for charitable assistance, and everyone knew she gave tzedaka generously.
She was predeceased by her husband R’ Chaim Menachem Tiechtel who passed away on 22 Nissan 5774 at the age of 91.
Her life is being continued to live on through her descendants, as a new great-granddaughter born to her grandson Rabbi Shlomiy Bistritzky from Hamburg, Germany, was given the name of Chaya Feigel just hours after her passing.
She is survived by her children, Rabbi Yissacher Shlomo Tiechtel – Crown Heights, Rabbi Dovid Tiechtel – Shliach in Natzret Elit, Mrs. Esti Bistritsky – Shlucha in Tzfas, Israel; Mrs. Gita Volpo – Shlucha in Netanya, Israel; Mrs. Bracha Levin – Shlucha in Paris, France; and Rabbi Meir Tiechtel – Shliach in Paris, France; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The levayah will be on Thursday at 2:00 pm and she will be buried on Har Menuchos. The family will be sitting Shiva in Yerushalayim, at Rechovot Elkanah 12.

Written by a granddaughter: From the time I knew her she just cherished all of your and our families. She knew every name, rejoiced in every marriage, delighted in every newborn . It was hard to visit her. You had to travel thousands of miles, make sure she wasn’t too flustered that she didn’t have all the right cakes and preparations just for you her honored visitor, you had to know the right moment to gently surprise her… Read more »

She was truly a very special person. I went with her grandchildren to visit her while I learnt in Israel.
Kind, warm, giving, a Survivor that had a true simchas hachayim, lived a life about helping others.
You can see on her descendants what a special person she was
