TheYeshiva.net joined together two world renowned Rabbis together to create a virtual Semicha and post-Semicha learning program for Talmidim, Rabbis and laymen across the globe.
Following on the heels of a highly-successful post-semicha program over the past year, training 120 Rabbis in all issues of contemporary Halacha, Rabbis Feitel Levin and YY Jacobson decided to open a top-notch high-level Semicha program on line, shaped in the model of the famous “Melbourne Semicha” program.
For 18 years, Rabbi Feitel Levin, one of the most brilliant halachic authorities of our time, has educated hundreds of future Rabbis in the highly acclaimed Gutnick Semicha program in Australia. Now he decided to reopen this unique program, designed for exceptional students, on line.
Rabbi Levi Wolff, spiritual leader of the largest shul in the southern Hemisphere, the Central Synagogue in Sydney, remarked: “I joined the virtual post-semicha program on TheYeshiva.net. We were given years of research on our finger tips. This program is a life-changer; it opened my eyes to all of the halachik issues facing the Jewish world today. The Semicha program, a full one-year intense course, will enable you to be ordained as truly knowledgeable rabbis. The course will cover the full spectrum of Hilchos Esur Vheter, Kesuvah and marriage, health issues, death and burial, and laws of Shabbos and Yom Tov. It will also consist of a second track for laymen or students who don’t have so much time on their hands.
The post Semicha program, also a one-year intense course, will cover the major halachic issues of our modern times. From conversions to suicide; from divorces to autopsies; from mamzarus to electronics; from abortions to euthanasia; from intermarriage to the laws of a shul; from internet to astronomy, from fertility issues to officiating at a wedding—this course will offer certification in the entire spectrum of contemporary Halacha.
Rabbi Levin is joined by world renowned teacher Rabbi YY Jacobson who will be presenting courses on public speaking and teaching and how to communicate Jewish thought to Jews from diverse backgrounds.
The new program, which begins after Sukkos, in October 2015, will follow two tracks: A challenging track, geared for very serious students, and an easier track for those with less time on their hands who want to master either Semicha or Post Semicha.

if you go to the website the easy track option doesn’t actually give the option for semicha you only learn it but are never tested on it

I like the “easy” track option. I’ve always wanted to get semicha, but having a dayjob and not being near a program has gotten in the way.
