Going through the journey of infertility is often scary and confusing.
You hear conflicting things from various doctors, as you try to find the expert that can help you achieve your dream.
However, there is one thing that is often overlooked especially in the beginning: seeking halachic guidance.
Most young couples are aware that before doing hi-tech procedures, such as IVF, a rabbi should be consulted. However, few realize that even the testing process can have complicated halachic questions and issues.
Whether someone is suffering from primary or secondary fertility challenges, please call a qualified Rav. Let it be the first call you make.
Hatzlacha! May Hashem send all the Neshamos down quickly so we can greet Moshiach speedily!

Puah is an organization that does many things, one of them being Hashgacha – it happens to be the organization that most Chabad Rabbonim rely on for this – but you go to them only after you have spoken to the Rav about what and how you can do what and when…
Hatzlacha to all!
Certain procedures that fertility doctors “sell” to women over a certain age are OSSUR in Lubavitch. WATCH OUT! One doctor tried to convince me that I should “just go ahead” because she has plenty of patients from another branch of chassidim who (according to her) were supposedly told by their Rov to “do whatever it takes to have a baby.” This is absolutely NOT what Lubavitch would say, at least about certain procedures that are widely used in the velt. ALSO: Having properly trained shomers for certain procedures is ABSOLUTELY VITAL! Otherwise, you could find out that halachically, “your” child… Read more »
Aside for Rabbis Ulman & Feigelstock, they both trained two local Chabad Rabbis to help with infertility cases here in NY. They are:
Rabbi Chaim Brikman (Chabad of Seagate) – 718-265-1104
Dayan Sholom Shuchat – 248-247-4900
Puah will help couples with every chumrah they need and do a very amazing job.
Rabbi Ulman is a tzaddik. His patience and care to our situation was unbelievable . After making the connection with Rabbi Ulman I was now able to feel relaxed and continue our journey with simcha. I am awed by him . Bh we were blessed with a baby. Thank you Rabbi Ulman!!!
Rabbi Ulman was there for us every step of our infertility journey, answering our question literally day and night. Words cannot express how thankful we are. May hashem pay him back with Kol Tuv bgur
All the Rabonim who were named ubove work beautifully together, and they all wish there was no more work for them, that all these beautiful ERLICHE couples have the brocha of children!
would sometimes mention that before beginning
treatment, to review the laws of Taharas Hamishpacha.
I’m glad this issue is getting a public forum. After years of trying unsuccessfully, and in consultation with our mashpia and rov, we are no longer trying. But the issue is really important; it can put tremendous stress on a couple, especially when siblings are popping out babies like nobody’s business.
the biggest expert in this field world-renowned Rabbi Farkash of Jerusalem and his son Rabbi Farkash of Seattle Washington
As other couples have mentioned, my husband and I feel tremendous gratitude and appreciation for Rabbi Ulman dedicated and respectful manor in which he he has helped us in our journey. There are so many details that couples do not know, so many road blocks and so many complex halachic questions that only very few Rabbis know the answers to. He has always been there, answered our calls , called us back, listened to us through tears and fears. He is a true chossid, giving so much of himself and expecting nothing in return. We are not part of his… Read more »
א. Read more »
He is an amazing rabbi and a caring, amazing person!
I too would like to add my appreciation for Rabbi Brikman. It was the best advice given to me from another Rov to contact Rabbi Brikman.
He helped us through complicated halachic questions with so much patience!
I would like to publicly thank Rabbi Ulman for assisting my husband and I through the process of fertility, the process was very challenging physically and emotionally, with his assistance we were zoche to beautiful baby boy. BH we have him in lubavitch .
I should also make mention and thank his community in sydney of russian decent for sharing him with the rest of us. THANK YOU!
Yes, Rabbi Brikman and Feigelshock both go above and beyond. They are geniuses in the field and highly personable.
The Gedaliah Society (named for R’Gedaliah Schaffer, obm) featured Rabbi Feigelstock as its speaker this week at their monthly meeting. Kudos to Dr. Shloimy Minkowitz for making sure our own medical professionals learn halochos from a Lubavitcher perspective.
Please careful when going to to a non-Lubaavitch rav on this topic. The rebbe held very strongly on certain issues and even thought it is fine for many other people, a Lubavitcher rav should be consulted.
Rabbi ulman is a phenomenal individual. Highly sensitive, very approachable and personable.
Another great rabbi who has helped us tremendously was rabbi Chaim Brikman from sea gate. He goes above and beyond.
You’re talking about someone head and shoulders above the rest. There are also local experts in Boro Park, Rabbi Zinner can refer.
Thank you and thank you again,. when first begining my journey with infertility i started without any knowledge of the halachic complications. I look back and am sad to say i have done things that were not so kosher just because we had no idea a Rav needed to be consulted. Both of these Rabonim are extremely knowledable and sensitive.
May all couple waiting for this Bracha be bentched with children very soon.
Rabbi Feigelstock is an amazing Rabbi. He works hard with you to help you find a halachicly acceptable solution. I only got a bracha from the Rebbe to go through with treatments after I showed the rebbe the three conditions that Rabbi Feigelstock said I had to keep in order for the procedure to be according to halacha. This happened about twenty four years ago. I recieved a Brocha from the Rebbe and Boruch hashem I have children today.
