Members of the Lubavitch community in Los Angeles spent morning and afternoon hours of Sunday in preparation for Gimmel Tammuz, the Rebbe‘s 21st yartzeit.
Held at Congregation Levi Yitzchok on La Brea Avenue, participating men and women were treated to in depth learning in the vast treasure of the Rebbe’s teachings.
The learning day was organized in light of what the Rebbe himself included in the Hayom Yom publication:
“You ask: What does your spiritual bond with me -your hiskashrus- consist of, since I do not know you by face…? True connection is attained by Torah study.
“When you study my maamorim of Chassidus, read the sichos, associate with my friends (the members of Anash and the tmimim) in their studies and in their farbrengens, and fulfill my request by reciting Tehillim and maintaining a regular study schedule – this is what constitutes hiskashrus.”
Delivering the classes were Rabbi Ezra Schochet, Rosh Yeshivas Or Elchanan Chabad of Los Angeles; Rabbi Simcha Bart, Director of Advanced Learning Program in Los Angeles; and Rabbi Shlomo Chein, Director of Chabad at University of California in S. Cruz.
A special guest speaker was Rabbi Yossi Lew, a respected lecturer and Director of Chabad of Peachtree City in Georgia, who spoke about the “Burning Fire of Shabbos Gimmel Tammuz” and shared unique encounters his family merited with the Rebbe.
One of chabad’s rising stars!
Best speaker ever!
