The staff of Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch, the organization that oversees arrangements at the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s gravesite in Queens, are preparing to host the large crowd expected to mark the day of Gimmel Tammuz at the Ohel.
Each year, people from around the country and world come to the Rebbe’s Ohel at the Old Montefiore Cemetery to mark the anniversary of his passing on the third day of Tammuz.
Rabbi Abba Refson, director of activities at the Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch, says he has been working with his staff to ensure a smooth and organized experience for all visitors.
For those who plan to spend Shabbos of Gimmel Tammuz – June 19-20 near the Ohel, a large air conditioned tent will be erected for sleeping a 5 minute walk from the Ohel, Refson said. Beds will be ordered only according to demand, due to the expense.
Registration for a bed will close on Wednesday, June 17, Rosh Chodesh Tammuz. To reserve a bed please register here. Yeshiva bochurim will be grouped according to their Yeshiva. Yungelite can also request group placement.
Those planning to come with a Mobile Home, will need to reserve a parking space here. The NYPD will not permit Mobile Homes to park on nearby streets, he said.
Yes there is an option. A group of women are staying at a hotel a walk away and are coming in shabbos day for a chance to go to the Ohel and hear from a few of the Shluchim there.
Is there any such arrangement?
Lama nigara
… but you more than welcome to come.
Is there an option for girls or is this strictly bochurim/yungerleit only?
