This Shavuos, over thirty families, comprising more than 200 adults, teens, and children from around the tri-state area and beyond gathered for five days at the new, beautiful, and fully equipped Gan Israel Retreat in the pristine Delaware Water Gap region of the Poconos, directed by Gershon and Devorah Sandler.
The participants returned home inspired, invigorated and looking forward to their next retreat. Rabbi Shlomo Yaffe served as the scholar-in-residence and the gourmet meals were catered by Rabbi Yisroel Silverstein and Rabbi Avrohom Siegel.
In addition to offering the broad variety of in-depth Torah study and recreational opportunities the men engaged in, and those offered to the women, the children enjoyed a range of organized activities, spiritual and physical.
Gan Israel Retreat has already begun planning for their upcoming retreats on Labor Day Weekend, Rosh HaShanah, and Sukkos, which it anticipates will reach maximum capacity as quickly as the Shavuos retreat did.

very impressed by the way the sandler family went out of their way to help and make everyone comfortable, beautiful grounds kids loved it we loved it especially the amazing food
We had great time at the retreat. Beautiful grounds, plenty of space for kids to run around. The food was amazing: everything was very fresh, delicious, many different salads – by far one of the best that we had at the similar events. Relaxed atmosphere. Very good davening, shiurim. We would love to come again. Big thanks to Sandler family for organizing this event.
It was a great experience and we are very appreciative to the Sandler family and Rabbi Yaffe. The food was outstanding and staff was very accommodating. Many of the families there were BTs and we are all thankful to the hard work of the shluchim and the Rebbe.
Our family spent Shavuot weekend with Sandlers in Poconos.
We all enjoyed our break from cooking and spent whole weekend learning, davening and enjoying our friends.
There was a group of exceptional families there including Sandlers who went above and beyond their duty in welcoming and accommodating us in the campgrounds.
The area is beautiful, full of fun places for kids to enjoy. The food was plentiful and delicious. Cabins were very spacious.
Lessons were very inspiring.
We truly enjoyed every minute of the weekend.
It was an amazing experience!!!Thanks!!!
