Mr. Myles (Moshe) Rapoport, a regular fixture in the Crown Heights neighborhood in Brooklyn, passed away on Monday.
The elderly Rapoport would regularly sit on Kingston Avenue, alongside the outer wall of 770 Eastern Parkway and collect charity for his sustenance.
Residents remember him as a friendly fellow who was thankful when people contributed a few coins or bills. In addition to that chesed, Mashpia Rabbi Pinye Korf would often help Rapoport put on Tefillin.
His funeral will take place on Tuesday, passing by 770 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at the Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, NY.
Baruch dayan haemes.
I loved talking to miles whenever I was in Crown Heights. He was amusing, insightful, funny and smart at the same time as being sincere. He would go the extra mile for someone simply because he liked you. A beautiful, gentle soul and my friend to the end. Baruch Dayan Emet.
