Menachem Raitport will be inaugurating the campaign headquarters of for his New York State Assembly run on Sunday, April 19 from 6:30 – 10:00 pm at 411 Troy Avenue (between Empire Blvd and Montgomery Street).
Raitport, a small business owner in Crown Heights with 8 children, is running in the special election on Tuesday, May 5 to represent the 43rd District which covers the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Crown Heights, Lefferts Gardens and East Flatbush.
In this cycle, a filing error meant that the Democratic party would not have an official candidate, which the 47-year-old Raitport hopes to use to his advantage under the Republican Conservative banner.
Democrats vying for the seat are Diana Richardson of the Working Families Party, District leader Geoffrey Davis (brother of slain Councilman James E. Davis) and District leader Shirley Patterson on the Independence Party line.
After a successful kickoff fundraiser last month, Raitport is hoping the public will come to his campaign headquarters to discuss ideas and suggestions on how to improve the community.
A speaker at the opening will be Bob Turner, Queens Republican Party Chairman and former Congressman.
It’s about time they put a end to metered parking on shabbos in the heart of crown heights. Example Albany Troy

Our community is split on almost every issue that comes up but I believe every resident shares the same disdain for the daily alternate side parking. Please do something about this similar to what park slope has which is once a week per street side. You would get every resident to vote for you if this were promised. I can guarantee that.
how does one register to vote
