This past year, many relived their childhoods with the reprint of the Michoel Muchnik children’s classics. At the Friendship Circle of Brooklyn, the boys division had Reb Michoel Live!
Michoel stepped out of his workshop and entered the world of the Friendship Circle, as he guided the budding artists in creating masterpieces of their own.
“This is the second year that we have the unique opportunity to have Reb Michoel work with us,” said Rabbi Berel Majesky, who together with his wife Chani direct the Friendship Circle of Brooklyn. “Watching him teach the boys is amazing, coaching while affording each of the guys the opportunity to bring out their own artistic skills.”
Changing things up a bit, the young artists transformed materials such as tiles, stones, handmade papers and glue, into beautiful mixed media art pieces.
Working with a theme of “Jewish Sights and Sounds,” the young artists produced some iconic pictures such as the Kosel, Kever Rochel, Tefilin and a Dreidel.
“It was a tremendous and rewarding experience and I am grateful to have been a part of this program,” Muchnik said. “Watching the young men’s minds and creativity at work was once again inspiring.”
The Friendship Circle thanks Michoel Muchnik and his staff for their time and assistance with this program.
The Friendship Circle will be selling these pieces at ‘The Art of Friendship’ event on May 10th. For more information or sponsorship opportunities, please contact [email protected] or visit www.FCBrooklyn.com/ART
