As Israel’s recovers from a tense election cycle and Benjamin Netanyahu tried to reboot his relationship with Washington, Israel’s Ambassador to the US, Ron Dermer is taking a moment to help Chabad.
Dermer and his wife Rhoda will be honored at Annual Gala Dinner of the Chabad Centers in the Bethesda – Chevy Chase area on Thursday.
During the special evening that will benefit Chabad’s activities, an award will be given to the Ambassador in recognition for his lifelong commitment and vital work on behalf of the Jewish people and their interests.
The Dermer family are regular shul goers at Chabad of Bethesda and have become close friends with its directors Rabbi Sender and Nechamie Geisinsky, COLlive.com was told.
Mrs. Dermer delivered an impressive speech recently at the gala banquet of the International Kinus Hashluchos convention in New York as a guest of Nechamie Geisinsky and Nechama Shemtov, the shlucha in Washington, DC.
“It has been truly an honor to have gotten to know Ambassador Dermer and his family,” said Rabbi Geisinsky who pointed out the Ambassador’s work has been of unique importance in light of the increasingly precarious situation facing Israel in recent months.
“His commitment to the people of the Holy Land and his diligence in representing and safeguarding their interests is something that has been true inspiration to myself and to so many others within the community. We are grateful for what he is doing on behalf of our brethren especially in these difficult times.”
The dinner was simply amazing. Only 7 years after their arrival , Sendy and Nechamie have made a real impact. The chairman of the evening was very impressive. He spoke about how he lost his Jewish feeling and the Geisinskys helped him GET IT BACK!!!
Rhoda Dermer’s speech at the Kinnus was electrifying. After this past week’s phenomenal political shift, one can feel the Rebbe’s imprint on all the successful political operatives in Israel. It can only be the footsteps of Moshiach!
