There is a quicker way to enjoy pizza in Crown Heights.
It’s called Sauce ‘N Cheese, and they promise to deliver a freshly made sizzling pie of pizza to your location of choice in the neighborhood, within 22 minutes.
Owner and manager Menachem Sheinberger has been operating the pizzeria at 509 Albany Avenue for a few months now, after purchasing it from Zalmy Wolff as a pick-up and delivery service.
“It’s like e-shopping for pizza,” says Sheinberger, who in the past worked for Holesome Bagels, the long-time dairy eatery run by his father Arele Sheinberger (who assisted him in this venture).
The concept is simple: Log on to their website www.SauceNCheese.com, select your 18″ or 10″ pie, sauce and toppings, check out, and in under 30 minutes a deliveryman on a bike will serve it to you.
“It’s like shopping shopping online as opposed to shopping at a store,” Menachem Sheinberger told COLlive.com. “If you are looking for the experience and not sure what you want, you need an actual store. But if you know what you want and don’t want the hassle of commute, online is your best option.”
He said that the location – a storefront on Albany between Lefferts and East New York Avenues – and the small group of employees, allows Sauce ‘N Cheese to offer lower prices on their products, such as $15 for a pie. “We’re 20% cheaper than everyone else,” he says.
The website also allows customization of the sauce (regular, marinara or white sauce), the cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, feta, munster and ricotta) and the toppings (olives, peppers, broccoli, spinach, garlic, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, sweet corn, pineapple and anchovies).
There is also garlic knots and a selection of calzones – mushroom, vegetable, spinach, broccoli and a Three Cheese Calzone (mozzarella, ricotta and cream), as well as cold soft drinks. They will soon be adding french fries to the menu.
And though they don’t offer in-restaurant seating options, Sheinberger is expecting a high volume of orders in the coming weeks, as families clean their homes for Pesach and prefer an easy meal option before and after the holiday.
He says that having the Hamilton-Metz (Lefferts) Park across the street is an advantage. “Parents stop by or send their children to pick up the pie, and they all sit down to eat it in the park, while enjoying the playground and basketball courts,” he says.
Under the Kosher supervision of the CHK – Badatz Crown Heights, the store opens daily at 12:00 PM and closes at 8:00 PM on weekdays and 3:00 PM on Friday. Nearing Pesach, it will stay open until 10:00 PM. On Motzoei Shabbos it opens from 6:30 PM to 11:30 PM.

Best pizza in town! Also very cheap.
I think all the store needs is 2 tables, one inside and one outside, so that if people want to sit, they will have a place. Besides for that, everything is perfection! Good job!!:)
keep this business model

is not good unless you are intolerant. Most is made with rice flour, and in addition to less nutrients and fiber, more fat and salt, it’s often make from rice which lately has been found to contain high levels of … ARSENIC.
Glad we have a nice new gluten-full kosher store under the CHK! Wow. Can’t beet that. Thanks and hatzlacha
