This Monday night, Junior N’shei will be hosting an informative women’s health symposium featuring Rabbi Gideon Weitzman, Director of the Puah Institute in the US and the Head of the English Speaking Section of the Puah Institute for Fertility and Medicine in Accordance with Halacha in Israel.
“We have been trying to arrange this type of event for a while,” says Mrs. Malka Michla Perlow, Junior N’shei coordinator. She notes Rabbi Weitzman’s busy schedule as one of the challenges to getting him to speak. “He is very enthusiastic about coming to Crown Heights,” she says, “as it will be his first time speaking to this community. We are grateful he made time for us.”
While the Puah organization is generally associated with fertility issues, Rabbi Weitzman’s knowledge spans a broad range of women’s issues from both the medical and halachic perspective. The event is therefore applicable to women of all ages and stages, with and without children. He will be addressing numerous topics concerning women’s health, and offering his valuable input regarding medical and halachic ramifications in these situations.
Rabbi Weitzman is a published author on many subjects of medical and halachic importance, as well as teacher and lecturer of great capacity. He has collaborated with many Chabad rabbonim as well as chosson and kallah teachers to enhance their understanding of fertility issues among others, and Junior N’shei is pleased to present him in their upcoming event. Rabbi Weitzman currently resides in Eretz Yisroel and Junior N’shei’s event is just one of the many speaking engagements he has on his itinerary while in the US. All women are invited to come and glean from the wealth of knowledge he has to offer.
The event will take place this coming Monday, 4 Adar, February 23rd at Lubavitcher Yeshiva. Doors open at 8:00 pm and the program will start at 8:15. The $8 entrance fee includes a raffle ticket, which is doubled for those arriving before 8:15. Bais Rivkah Head Start parents pay $5. Attendees will also be treated to a healthy yogurt bar.
