These folks have got soul…
Jewish music stars Benny Friedman of Crown Heights and Chaim Yisrael of Israel braved the cold weather in New York to rehearse for Sunday’s Soul II Soul concert.
A team of musicians from the Freilach Band joined them at the Complete Music Studios, a music rehearsal facility in Brooklyn, located blocks from the Barclays Center.
“Although it is very cold here and there’s snow, we came with a lot of warmth and love to bring you joy,” Yisrael said. “I hope you come. There will be wonderful music.”
Friedman and Yisrael will be offering a unique repertoire, reflecting their diverse tastes and backgrounds as Chassidic Ashkenazi and Israeli Sephardic, respectively.
“I’m telling you, just from what I’m hearing now it’s going to be a beautiful evening at the Soul II Soul show,” Friedman remarked, as he led a COLlive cameraman into the studio for an exclusive sneak peek.
The 13th annual Soul II Soul concert, to benefit the education of children with special needs, will take place this Sunday, February 22, 2015- 3 Adar 5775, 7:00 PM at Brooklyn School of Music, 883 Classon Avenue.
There will be a special guest appearance by comedian Mendy Pellin with a Live Jewbellish show, bringing the humor from the popular online show directly to the stage.
“If my mother finds out that you did not come to the show, I can’t even imagine what she will do, please think of the future generations and buy a ticket,” said Pellin.
