The Shloshim – 30 days since the passing of Rabbi Meir Roness OBM, a chossid who helped organize and fund the dissemination of Chassidic teachings for over 50 years, was marked on Thursday.
A familiar and beloved presence in the community, Rabbi Roness was an individual of unsurpassed warmth, sincerity and devotion who encouraged many to give to charity.
The event held Kollel Menachem in Crown Heights is being organized by the Central Lubavitch Youth Organization (“Tzach”) in tribute to his lifelong work under the organization.
He passed away on Jan. 13, just one day after celebrating his 74th birthday.
The speakers:
Rabbi Shmuel Butman, emcee and the Chairman of Tzach
Rabbi Shlomo Majeski, Dean of Machon Chana
Rabbi Shlomo Cunin, Head Shliach of California
Renowned lecturer Rabbi Yossi Jacobson

He was a great man and his greatness knows no words. If we can all learn and put into practice a little something from him, Anash and the world will be much better off.
where can we send money now?
is there a way we can use a credit card?
to part of R. Jacobsons speach and it was really great.
May we all learn from R. Roness’s humble and Ibergegeben

Meir did not nudge and bug people for money, he said his thing and passed by. He did not insist. At least that my experience.
Thank you Rabbi Butman for ending the program and evening with Yechi. You gave me hope. Thank G-d you are still with us.
How did you read my mind?? You leave nothing for me to add. Thank you.
I’m watching this and feeling embarrassed of myself… I saw this person almost on a daily basis, interactive with him every now and then, perhaps gave him a few dollars, but never bothered to find out who he was and what he was collecting for. He just seemed like another one of those who keep you up when you are trying to head over somewhere. Listening about his life makes me think that in truth he was the one who gave you the chance to do something important before heading over to do something perhaps trivial. Thank you R’ Meir… Read more »
Did he speak yet?
