By Blue Melody Group:
Although my family is not of Chabad descent, I have been enthralled by the Chabad Haneiros Hallalu since I first heard it as a little child on “Hupp Cossack.”
As you probably know, the origins of this Chabad Masterpiece is uncertain, (I have done my research) it is believed to have been composed by the Talmidim of the “Maharash”, the 4th Rebbe of Chabad-Lubavitch. The Rebbe was not well. He would come out for Neiros Chanukah. The Chasdim composed a long song for Hanieros Halalu so that he would stay out longer!
Not a Chanukah goes by without me and my family signing this mesmerizing tune!
I have wanted to perform this piece live at a wedding for the past 2-3 years. Its not a simple feat. It needs the right setting. The right singer. The perfect accompaniment.
This year, Dec 23rd, (Zos Chanukah), we finally did it! At a wedding of a very close friend of mine, performing was Shloime Daskal, The Mezamrim Choir led by Chilu Posen accompanied by Blue Melody. Arranged by Eli Lax.
Audio by Shy Clyman & Eli Lishinsky.
Video Production: Motty Engel
wow i love it keep up the good work
I can imagine you Mezamrim chevre would do a great job on Shoshanas Yaakov. Theres an old version and I think a newer one by maybe Gan Israel Montreal boys choir (from the 80s), which is a beautiful nigun but its even longer than Haneiros halalu and quite complex but definitely worth doing. Not many people know it as its hard to learn but a wonderful Chabad tune.
One of the choir on his cell!….made me laugh
Some corrections to perfect:
There were some notes missed like;
koidesh heim 3x instead of 4x (going down a note)
bilvod 2x intead of 4x (going down a note)
bAzman should be: bEEzman Ha zeh
boheM should be: bohEIN
yeshuOh secho should be: yeshuOi secho
Done so well.
Took an already spectacular, heart warming niggun
and produced it to its best.
Gorgeous voices
Beautiful arrangements
יישר כח
This is the best Haneiros Hallalu choir I have ever heard,
Shloime Daskal has a very Geshmakeh Voice, The full Orchestra sounds fantastic,
Plus the recording quality is just amazing,
YASHER KOACH!!!
mazel tov to the ba”lei simcha Rabbi and Mrs Herzka (Lakewood) and Rabbi and Mrs Wolofsky (Flatbush)
Beautiful!
Loved the arrangement, outstanding singer..beautiful voice, loved the background choir, the band! All of it. Please bring us more!!
Loved it! What a drummer!
Composed by Aharon Charitonov
Th Rashabs custom was to leave the beis medrash and go back to his study as soon as the ceremony was over. The temimim would sing this version as a ploy to keep him in shul with them for as long as possible.
One can say that this nigun is not merely another version of haneirois halolu but given it’s history, is also a form of yearning to be with the Rebbe.
May we merit be to be with our Rebbe b’korov mamosh.
I really enjoyed this, it was very nice
Loved it!
Great job vocals and musicians
They did an amazing job, just a little off tune in some places but what a kiddush Lubavitch!
I think it was the Talmidim of the miteleh rebbe not the rebbe maharash.
they say reshis instead of reshus , bohem instead of bohein
aaal nisecho veal
very nicely done , i think he says bazman instead of bizman , near the end of niggun they dont have it down pat . listen again
thank you so much for posting this, one of the nicest productions of haneiros halalu that ive every heard!
mamash A Geshmak!
