Mrs. Doba Nisnevitz, longtime Crown Heights resident, passed away on Friday, 3 Shevat, 5775.
She was 90.
She was the wife of R’ Zev Wolf Nisnevitz , one of the elder Chabad chassidim of the last generation, who devoted his life to helping Jews in the former Soviet Union and sustaining Judaism and Jewish life behind the Iron Curtain.
After emigrating to the United States in 1974, R’ Zev Wolf and Doba remained in New York as instructed by the Rebbe to work with Russian Jewish immigrants.
Mrs. Nisnevitz was the cook of Bais Rivkah school on Crown Street for 30 years, a job she took much pride in and did with much care.
She is survived by her children Mrs. Luba Goldshmid – Lod, Israel; Mrs. Fanya Rogatsky, Mrs. Ella Chein, R’ Alex Nisnevitz, R’ Lazer Nisnevitzand Mrs. Esther Chein, all of Crown Heights; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The levaya will take place today, Friday leaving Shomrei Hadas in Boro Park at 10:30 am and passing by 770 at 11:30 am.
The family is sitting Shiva at 652 Montgomery St.

She was a special women, she was example to all when it came to humility and tznius. She loved her family dearly and was Moiser nefesh for Yiddishkeit in Russia. She was the Matriarch of the family and she will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace. BDE
