Burger lovers, beware.
The new Boeuf and Bun on Kingston Avenue in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights has the potential to become very addictive.
Presenting itself as a “artisanal burger lab,” the rustic decor and chilled ambiance offsets the amazing food and friendly service. Funky mismatched warm wood panels and exposed brick feel very original, and you know you’re in Brooklyn.
The restaurant which officially opens next week is the long-time dream of owner and chef Tzemach Woolstone who has been cooking for his family and friends since he was 10 years old.
Born in Sydney and moved to Crown Heights 9 years ago, the 24-year-old has a business degree from Baruch College, but opening a restaurant has always been his dream.
The brand new interior was built from scratch by Woolstone and his partners, who built it from the ground up on the site that once served as a Chesed Center. Everything was made by hand, they note.
Woolstone curated the menu himself, which features slow cooked pulled beef burger, fried egg burger and chili burger, alongside a classic burger. A little bucket of spiced fresh popcorn on the table to start the meal lent a different and fun feel.
Hand cut truffle fries are double fried with parsley and garlic, and beer battered onion rings are incredible.
Woolstone says the new restaurant aims to fulfill a need in Brooklyn and “to uplift the Kosher burger experience,” pointing out that until now, for quality food such as this, one would have to travel to Manhattan.
“We are bringing a complete experience here,” he says.
Woolstone says the freshness of his food is what sets them apart. Everything in the restaurant is made fresh daily and made to order.
They also have a team of staff and servers to provide the best in service. “If the food is delicious and the service is terrible, you won’t enjoy your experience,” he says.

Bacon is a culinary term for any kind of cured meat — beef, lamb, or anything else. It’s the non-Jewish world that’s attached the term to treyf meats. As long as it’s cured meat from an animal, it’s bacon.

@nice – to say ‘when people get accustomed to something they tend to forget to draw the line between real and fake’ is the most ridiculous thing I have ever read and has NO basis what so ever to fact…… That’s like saying all vegetation will develop into meat eaters from eating meat substitutes.
Woohoo! Mazel tov Tzemach! We are so excited to come taste the whole menu…
So proud of you!
Love your fans in the Sydney,

Sounds amazing!! Much hatzlocha to the owner!! Where on Kingston is this located? What are the days and hours??
The Talmud in Chulin 109 Omud Beis states that “all that the Torah prohibited, it has made something just like it permissible. It then lists several things, including pork, and then enumerates the items that are permisible that taste similar or have the same experience as the prohibited items.
No need to be more religious than the Talmud.

Do they have Gluten free options?
But why do we have to have dishes called “bacon”? Is that really necessary? Do we always need to tempt ourselves in our mind to eat what goyim eat and to feel we are doing so by ordering dishes with such names? That goes for pizza as well with fake pepperoni pizza and for sushi fake crab. Obviously it isn’t real and just made out of veggies/soy whatever. But its the concept and I never a liked the idea. Also when people get accustomed to something they tend to forget to draw the line between real and fake. But anyway… Read more »
