Glimpsing through the different Sichos of the Rebbeim on the topic of a Farbrengen one thing will certainly catch your attention. Of the many reasons and explanations given as to why a Chassidisher Farbrengen is so important, a primary accomplishment is the Achdus generated. Simply put, when Chassidim just sit together they have already lightened the load of whatever is weighing them down.
While this is true of every Chassidisher gathering, it was magnified a few days ago. At the international Hey Teves rally organized by the Chinuch Yaldei Hashluchim division of the Shluchim Office, there was a living example of the power of Achdus.
Being that Hey Teves is such an important yom tov for all of chabad, CYH staff decided to expand their global rally for shluchims kids, and invited schools and Chadorim as well.
The children of shluchim, and those attending the Nigri Online School, with the participation of many Chedorim including cheder Lubavtich of Detroit, Chicago, Minnesota, cheder at the Ohel and many more, really farbrenged and celebrated in a unified style.
One excited student related his own experience: “Many schools were able to say pesukim live, and the rest of us were able to see them and repeat, almost like a live rally!
We watched an animated video of the story of Hey Teves which taught us some of the deeper parts of the yom tov, things I, as well as my friends have not heard about before. It was so entertaining and at the same time so meaningful.
We then played a fun game based on the story of Hey Teves.
We also got to hear from a very special guest speaker, Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, who shared with us his memories of Hey Teves as the Rebbe’s secretary. It was very interesting because Rabbi Krinsky was very closely involved in all the little details of the story.”
The official part of the program then came to an end with all the schools saying a L’chaim together!
At that point a spontaneous dance broke out and the children sang the niggun Didan Notzach with a special Chayus. The joy was palpable. Each child and school had a chance to turn on their webcam, so that all the other children and schools watching would be able to see them celebrating like chassidim.
The boundaries and limitations of time and space ceased to exist, as the family of Chassidim celebrated with the Rebbe.
