Moshe Kanofsky, father of Jewish community leader Yosef Kanofsky, has been missing since last week Thursday, December 18, 2014 around 3:30pm. He is 73 years old, six feet tall, with blue eyes and gray hair and suffers from memory loss. He was last seen on Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue, wearing a red and black flannel shirt and a straw hat. Moshe Kanofsky also goes by the name Gerald Kane. He wears what has been described as casual, baggy and old, even ripped clothing.
“My father is a kind, loving and gentle man, who suffers from memory loss that may cause him to wander. Our family has been worried sick about his whereabouts as the weather gets colder and daylight gets shorter. We miss him tremendously and pray for his safe return home,” said Yosef Kanofsky. Mr. Kanosfky is an influential Jewish leader who is Director of Government Programs for the Orthodox Union/TEACH NYS initiative and is well known for helping dozens of yeshiva administrators, as well as his extracurricular activities as a mentor to at-risk youth in Crown Heights.
Councilman David G. Greenfield offered a $500 reward for information leading to the safe return of Moshe Kanofsky, “It deeply saddens me to hear the news about Moshe’s disappearance, especially during this holiday season. This is a time where families should be together, not separated. Thankfully, the NYPD has been working—even on Christmas—to ensure that he is found and safely reunited with his family. If you see him, please immediately call Crown Heights Shmira Safety Patrol at (718) 221 0303 or the NYPD at 911. Let’s work together to unite a grandfather with his family this weekend,” said Councilman David Greenfield.

He is a noble, beautiful man who loves the Jewish people and longs to see their greatness.
May Hash-m bless you with a speedy REFUAH SLEIMAH
May you once again VERY SOON spend time with your loving and precious children and grandchildren.
We all missed you so very much over Chanukah and so very much want to make up for the time we were not with you
If you are inclined to state “clothes don’t make a man” why are you going so far as adding he was an attorney? It doesn’t matter what he is he is a man who badly needs a refuah! Materialism doesn’t mean anything!!!!!! #equality #leftist4life
So glad he was found, hope he has a very speedy recovery!!!
For those who have never met Moshe Gershon Ben Zahava: He enjoyed a distinguished career as an attorney. To the best of my recollection and knowledge, he used to provide advice regarding matters of great import to the community, and most certainly deserves our prayers, compassion and utmost respect.
He needs lots of Tfilos due to many serious injuries he sustained. BH as of tonight his vitals were stable but still has much more to go. let’s hope for a didan notzach as her recovers fully.
Most of whom should not have a license.
