Nearly 50 people attended Chabad of Scotland’s Pre-Chanukah Lunch and Learn held at L’Chaim’s Restaurant – Lubavitch Centre this past Monday.
It was most rewarding to welcome people from a very wide cross section of the community who came to enjoy L’Chaim’s Kosher food, including calorie-free Chanukah latkes and doughnuts and hear words of spiritual inspiration given by Sora Jacobs to the women, and by Shliach Chaim Jacobs to the men.
Following Rabbi Jacobs’ talk there was a 20 minute discussion about miracles, wonders and Divine Providence.
Everyone attending brought a Chanukah gift which were exchanged through a raffle organised by Sora and Chaim.
The next men’s lunch will be held on Tu beshevat Wednesday 4 February.
The entire lunch was organised by Sora Jacobs who also manages Sora’s Cafe, L’Chaim’s Restaurant and Kosher Catering and the Lubavitch women’s Learning programs within the community.
As every year, Rabbi Chaim Jacobs, director of Lubavitch of Scotland, will be driving around with a Chanukah Menorah sign on the roof of his car.
