Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson paid a visit to Lubavitch World Headquarters Tuesday afternoon to express his concern and support following Tuesday night’s stabbing of a student at 770 Eastern Parkway.
“We are going to look at every aspect of this investigation of this particular individual,” Thompson told PIX11 News about the stabbing of 22-year-old rabbinical student Levi Rosenblatt by an African American male identified as Calvin Peters.
“I can’t tell you that we have been able to confirm that, but we are going to look at every aspect of this investigation of this particular individual,” Thompson said after the meeting and visiting the central Chabad synagogue at 770.
As reported on COLlive.com, Rosenblatt is now in stable condition and recovering from his wounds. He underwent a surgical procedure at the Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City and spoke with his parents.

On Wednesday morning, New York City Police Department’s top brass met with senior Chabad officials to discuss security issues following the stabbing incident.
The delegation included NYPD Chief of Department James O’Neill, Commanding Officer Brooklyn South Owen Monahan, Commanding Officer 71st Precinct, Deputy Inspector George Fitzgibbon, and Inspector Ellen Chang of Community Affairs.
They were joined by Mr. Adam Berish of the Police Commissioner’s Office as well as Mr. Pinny Ringel from the office of NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio.
The delegation met with senior Chabad leadership, Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky and Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, as well as Rabbi Mendel Sharfstein, who directs the global security efforts of Chabad headquarters.
Chief O’Neill was emphatic about NYPD’s strong commitment to secure 770 and other Jewish sites throughout the city, assuring the group that police will reinforce and increase security efforts that are already in place.
The meeting reflected the close relationship that exists between Chabad leadership and law enforcement on all security matters. Rabbis Krinsky and Kotlarsky commended the NYPD for their ongoing support and swift response on Monday night. Their actions, said the rabbis gratefully, prevented potentially far worse consequences.
Rabbi Abe Friedman, a community leader and law enforcement chaplain, worked closely with Rabbi Sharfstein in facilitating the meeting at Chabad-Lubavitch Headquarters.
But please men and women, that’s your responsibility to tidy up your shul, to take care of the holy books, to clean up the place, to toss your dirty tissues full of microbes…
And better to have policemen outside than nobody. They came fast, and save other potential victims.
If Messiah comes and sees how you take care of the shul, he will leave.
What the rebbe said: “We need to be ready when Messiah comes.”
So do it!
That these politicians won’t call this a terrorist attack shows that they have no clue and never will have a clue to what is really going on. They are sticking it on mental illness. What better foil is there for the terrorist machinery to put up some misken shlub like the terrorist was and hide under the mental illness. It is so obvious that it’s premeditated. No doubt he was influenced by the Al Sharpton’s of the world. What a contrast how the Rebbes words accomplished so much for the good. Elef Havdalos, what the anti-Semites with their words do.… Read more »
Look at what a Jew is and nobody seems to mention.
In the video one student pleads with the cop don’t shoot don’t shoot. His friend just got stabbed in the head lying in a pool of blood, and the student is worried about the poor black guys life.
God bless you chabadnicks.
Please don’t exaggerate and pretend there is no power struggle and politics involved ON BOTH SIDES.
I think he really wants to get rid of the Charlie Hynes Chicago-style corruption. Hopefully, CH will see fairness.
As for this meeting – forget renovating 770. What is needed is 24/7 PAID security, like in Israel, where they check every single bag. Go into the malls etc – people line up patiently to get through security check. We are used to it & accept it. Time for 770 to implement these measures.
Its acte about time rabbi Kinsky will be able to enter 770 because he (and merkaz) will be the only one to run it properly! And prevent another incident like this! The gaboim do nothing for the shut that actually matters!! As long as there is a ‘yechi’ sign up thats what counts?!?! Merkas would actually put things in perspective ciz that DO HAVE THEYRE PRIORITYS RIGHT!! Not the gaboim (and the tzfatim who infest the shul!!!
Finally, this was really needed!
Just a FYI, If you need a connection to NYPD, we (Lubavitch) have Kramer, Gluck and others that really can help our community with the right intentions…
He meets with people who CAN’T go downstairs for fear of being accosted by hooligans.
Actually there was money and building plans ready to expand 770, the Rebbe even laid the cornerstone to expand it, but some people haven’t allowed it to happen for selfish political reasons, disregarding how much the Rebbe cared about expanding the Shul…
And since when do they care so much for what goes on in 770…they haven’t stepped foot in the place for years….wtvr…
We really need the Rebbe now!!!
No need to renovate 770. It needs to look exactly as it did before gimmel tammuz as nothing has changed.
no one from the gabboyim they are the ones that run the downstairs mange the maintenance etc. they are part of the reason why it happened & should be priy to the meetings etc. obviously the meeting was ure bs just a media show for no ne else from the community not even Chanina wre present & to say we will look at everything is more bs double talk
I dont understand how come the leaders of 770 never tried to renovate the shul?, it looks like it did 60 years ago.
We now need to really on so called satmar askoonim,
Whats with our own?!?
Bichvoyd Rabonon,
I see too many “lefties” among the NYPD contingents.
Almost all of them pronounced body language which dominated their left over their right … not good (for the right-handed ones which can be spotted).
This casts doubt on the Kashrus related to this debacle and their intentions here.
There is certainly no hechsher; raising a myriad of possibilities.
Mizmor leSoidoh!
Seems to me, that the gentile people are being shown where Moshiach will start from, because the worlds press and everyone else seemed to be at 770 and it wasn’t for the davening. Now they have seen firsthand, in person, and met the leaders, and when Moshiach comes, they will be familiar. GD bless the bochur.
Chana simcha
SHMIRA/SHOMRIM MISSING ….

MAYBE IT’S TIME WE GIVE CREDIT WHERE IT DUE!!!!!!
MBA (X CH – NOW IN THE WEST COAST)
Hope they tidied up 770 before the guests arrived.
Rabbi krinsky time to build the new shul
Take a community referendum who builds 770
Let’s build a shul to be proud of , Lubavitch world headquarters
I am sure you were not proud to show the public officials what the main shul of Lubavitch headquarters looks like ,
police must be on foot in front of 770 by the doors if not its waist of time. The cops in the car i watched them so many times playing with their phones ,and sleeping
last 3 pictures are horrible quality
He meets with the people who never go downstairs in 770.
