A new segment of the international Kinus Hashluchim was created to encourage the exchange of ideas and relevant topics in an open and informal setting.
The “Open Idea Exchange,” created by Shluchim Rabbis Zvi Drizin of Dallas, TX, Moshe Rapoport of Mequon, WI, Yudi Shemtov of Yardley, PA and Yitzchok Tiechtel of Nashville, TN, offered 34 “pods”, or areas of discussion, relating to Shlichus, personal development and family life.
Shluchim were invited to visit the discussion of their choice and hear from their peers and a designated facilitator about various topics relating to running a Chabad House and programs, fundraising, personal relationships, family and community issues.
Held Sunday at Oholei Torah in Crown Heights, the Open Idea Exchange was facilitated by veteran Shluchim and experienced educators, lecturers and other experts, such as fundraising coach Rabbi Yisroel Brod, educator Rabbi Zalman Leib Markowitz, lecturer Rabbi Manis Friedman, Chabad.org’s Media director Rabbi Motti Seligson, and Melbourne cult expert Rabbi Raphael Aron.
“The exchange is like a bazaar where you can stroll through the wares, take what you’d like, share what you know, and move on,” organizers explained. “Unlike a workshop, where a panel shares their specific ideas with an audience, the Open Idea Exchange opens up the conversation to everyone.”

(There, I just put in my 2 cents, I should be hired for these sessions, just sayin.) 3) On a serious note, it’s nice to see the pods titled “Inspiring Our Children” and “Family and Shlichus” were well attended, people do have their priorities straight. Shetaarichu yomim al mamlachtchem, and Moshich Now!… Read more »
