Registration for the International Kinus Hashluchim, the annual convention of Chabad-Lubavitch Shluchim, has opened Sunday.
Thousands are once again expected to participate in the 4-day get together that begins Wednesday night, 26 Cheshvan – November 19, 2014 in Brooklyn, NY.
The Gala Banquet, one of the most moving and glitzy evenings in the Chabad movement, will be taking place Sunday, 1 Kislev – November 23, at the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal.
Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos who organizes the Kinus, notified that Mr. Yuli Edelstein, the Speaker of the Knesset, will be the guest speaker at the Banquet.
The Ukrainian-born Edelstein was a refusenik in the former Soviet Union and has held key positions in the Israeli government for the last two decades.
He has spoken on many occasions about how while under the Soviet regime Lubavitch helped keep his Jewish flame alive, smuggled him a siddur and married him off in a Jewish ceremony.
At a special session in July honoring the Lubavitcher Rebbe in the Israeli Knesset Parliament, Edelstein spoke about the Rebbe’s “love for every Jew with all his heart and soul.”
As reported on COLlive a few weeks ago, Rabbi Nissan Dovid Dubov, shliach and director of Chabad of South London, has been selected to deliver the keynote address.
One of those special people that really fought for Judaism in the dark ages of Soveit Russia, and merited to step foot on the land he cherishes so much.
Its free for all shlichim!!!
Lucky for those who can afford to take part
