Thousands enjoyed the Sukkahs operated by the Lubavitch Youth Organization, the International Succah across from the United Nations, the Wall Street Sukkah at Battery Park, the Garment Center Succah at 6th Avenue and 34th City Hall Sukkah, two blocks north of City Hall at Foley Square in front of the court houses.
“The public Succahs are designed to fulfill the directives of the Rebbe and give Jews who live, work or visit the area as well as Jewish diplomats that work in varies embassies, to make the blessings over the ‘Four Kinds’ and to have their meals in the Sukkah,” said Rabbi Shmuel Butman, Director Lubavitch Youth Organization.
A diplomat, a Stock broker, a bussines man and a tourist who came with his family to visit the “Big Apple” can find their way together to one of the Sukkahs.
