Dozens spent Shabbos Slichos at the Ohel of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in Cambria Heights, Queens, including groups from Moscow and Odessa.
The groups were accompanied by Russia’s Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar and other Shluchim.
During the uplifting Shabbos complete with davening and farbrengens, Ukranian businessman Alexander Granovsky, who traveled with a group from Odessa along with Shliach Rabbi Avremi Wolf, pledged 60,000 times chai – 18 to his local Chabad center.
The Russian group’s Shabbos at the Ohel concluded a weekend in New York in preparation for Rosh Hashana.

whats wrong with him supporting his local chabad house? why should his money have gone to a CH moised if he has no connection to it?

Kol hakovod. Is it just me that notices the pledge was to his local shul? After years of the Rebbe pouring out his kochos to put people Iin the most ekvelt and there is little being reinvested into chabad’s core educational mosdos. The largest and most grand JCC’s and museum’s are run under Lubavitch moisdes but Beis Rivka and Lubavitch Yeshiva can hardly make ends meet. Kudos to R’ Shemtov, when he had his gvirim like Mr. Chase donating big money, he made sure it went towards the Chinuch of the next generation instead of building another trophy in Philly… Read more »

Its Irrelevant because in today’s crazy world, and after such a terrible year with so much tragedy pain suffering dozens of Jewish families in E”Y mourning thier childre R”L ,and after just finishing selichos, their is only one reality that is- Aibishter and we should all be blessed with one thing this year..MOSHIACH
