Mr. Marvin Fruchter, a part-owner of Apple Drugs on Kingston Avenue, passed away Thursday, a short while after being injured in a terrible accident.
Although he was a resident of Long Island, Mr. Fruchter was well-known in Crown Heights, having worked in the community for many years.
“He was an all around good mentch, caring member of our community,” a friend told COLlive. “He had a picture of himself with the Rebbe displayed in his store,” he said.
He is survived by his wife, Rita, and two children.
The Levaya took place Friday at 11:00 am, at Gutterman’s Funeral Chapel, 8000 Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury, Long Island, NY.

may his memory be for a blessing
I went to Apple not too long ago to get something notarized and was told that Marvin “wasn’t feeling well,” and wasn’t in. I sent him good thoughts and good wishes never suspecting anything life-threatening was going on. I am totally shocked! He was a warm, caring individual who will be sorely missed.
I knew him
He will be missed. Baruch Dayan Haemes.
