This Thursday Night, over 75 bochurim from Melbourne (Yeshiva Gedolah & Mesivta) gathered in Yeshiva Gedolah to commemorate the Rebbe’s father’s 70th Yahrtzeit.
The program began with a learning session for an hour, where the bochurim learned a sicha of the Rebbe about Reb Levik’s life and teachings (20 Menachem Av 5750).
Following the learning Shliach special video presentation was shown: A collection of Sichos, Special Moments and interviews about Reb Levik from the JEM video collection.
The event was arranged by the Yeshiva Gedola shluchim. Special thanks to Shluchim Mendel Hertz and Mendel Shuchat.
In honor of the 70th Yartzeit (5704- 5774,1944-2014) of Reb Levik Schneerson, the Rebbe’s father, bochurim shluchim of the Yeshvah Gedolah of Melbourne Australia have made a very unique Kovetz called “Ateres Levi Yitzchok.”
The Kovetz it is a collection Sichos of the Rebbe on his father’s Torah, on topics in Elul and Tishrei. Also a number of Bochrim in Yeshiva Gedolah have written Biurim on these sichos.
“This is a one of a kind publication, in honor of the Rebbe and his father Reb Levik,” said the organziers. “As this year is the 70th year, we are sure that the Rebbe would be making a major Shturem about Reb Levik and would greatly appreciate this. It will definitely create a greater koch in Reb Levik and the Rebbe’s Torah all over Llubavitch.”
In fact, in a Michtav Kloli the Rebbe writes in 5744- (the 40 years Yartzeit), the Rebbe says that it is a “Choiv and zechus for him to get all to learn from his father’s Torah,” how much more so in year 70!
We already saw the great acceptance among Anash and Temimim of our last publication, on Biurim form the Bochrim on the Rebbe’s haggadah, that also was one of a kind publication.
The project was spearheaded by Shliach HaTomim Motti Rubin.
We hope that this brings great Nachas to the Rebbe as it is a unique kovetz devoted totally to the Rebbe’s fathers teachings as explained in the Rebbe’s Sichos. In this merit may we be zoche to the time of the final Geulah speedily.
The kovetz follows a Sefer printed In honor of 4 Menachem-Av which marks the 40th year milestone (5734-74) since the arrival of the Rosh Yeshivah of the Rabbinical College of Australia and New Zealand (Yeshivah Gedolah – Melbourne), Rabbi Binyomin Cohen.
The students of the Yeshivah recently published a Sefer of Chidushei Torah (Vol. 20), consistent with the Rebbe’s directive that Yeshivah Gedolah be a centre of Torah learning for Melbourne, and all of Australia.
Since Rabbi Cohen’s arrival on the shores of Australia exactly forty years ago, the Yeshivah has grown from a handful of students to more than seventy students. The Sefer is only a token of appreciation from the bochrim and shluchim for Rabbi Cohen’s exceptional dedication for each Bochur’s personal growth, and may Hashem bless him to continue to educate the Talmidim in Torah and Yiras Shamayim.
The Sefer was also dedicated in honour of the Rebbe, marking twenty years since Gimmel Tammuz. In the Zechus of this Sefer may we be Zoche to reunite with our Rebbe and see the Geulah Shleimah speedily.
The project was spearheaded by Shliach Motti Rubin. Special thanks go to Shliach Mendel Shpitzer, Hatomim Shmuly Meyers and Hatomim Akiva Valance for their assistance.
Hope u come for tishrei 😉
Best boy around 🙂
Keep up the great work
