At the start of the “Nine Days” of mourning after the destruction of the Bais Hamikdash and Jerusalem, kosher restaurants around New York City announced special sans-meat menus, as customary.
The listing was compiled by Great Kosher Restaurants Magazine of pareve or dairy menus at many kosher restaurants, including Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Now is a great time to visit those meat restaurants which serve some delectable vegetarian and fish items, including sushi.
If you’re going to go out to eat at a dairy restaurant, the magazine recommends you go during off peak hours, whether that means an early or late lunch or an early or late dinner to avoid the rush.
But please be patient with your servers and staff as they are usually overwhelmed with customers during this particular week.

That was exactly what I thought on seeing the headline.
If you want to eat bread and water that’s your prerogative, why do you have to dictate what it is or not the time for other people to be doing?
At least there is some parve meals for the 9 days….think positive 🙂
don’t hear anyone saying anything against imitation crab, pareve cheeseburgers, etc.
I agree
I find it ironic that people seem to have turned this period of mourning into a week-long shavuos. This is not the time to be enjoying gourmet food.
