Dear Community Member,
Over the past two weeks, dozens of residents from our community were unfairly hit with multiple Bus Lane camera violations along Nostrand and Rogers Avenues.
A group of concerned citizens who’ve unfairly received hundreds – and in some cases thousands – of dollars worth of bus lane violations by the DOT in a span of a few weeks are banding together in hopes of fighting these tickets; but this can only be done if there is a show of force by the numerous drivers who’ve been affected – particularly those who’ve traveled between Crown Heights and Flatbush.
The goal here is to unite and show local officials how many people were impacted by the lengthy delays in issuing these tickets. Violations which occurred in March and April are only being processed and received now.
If you received camera violations in the mail, please click here for their Facebook page or send an email to [email protected] detailing how many tickets you have received.
A noted lawyer has agreed to join the cause and is in the process of taking legal action against the DOT. The more people who were affected by this who comment, the more of a chance there is in fighting these absurd violations and having them dismissed.
Besura Tovos,
A concered resident
just got a ticket from june 30 , nostrand ave and rogers, just where i turn the corner to come into crown hts and go to school. not possible?????????
Why were the bus lanes there in the first place.
Do community members want these lanes?
Or are the lanes like the ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING city revenue scam.
THE CITY REALLY DOES NOT KNOW IT`S LIMITS I GOT 2 BUS LANE TICKETS BOTH WITHIN A MIN APART FROM EACH OTHER THAT`S $230!!! THE TICKET WAS DATED BACK TO MARCH I PAID THOSE TICKETS THINKING THAT WOULD BE END OF IT, THEN TO MY SURPRISE THEY SENT ME ANOTHER TICKET ALSO DATING BACK TO MARCH THIS TIME ONLY ONE TICKET, I ENDED UP PAYING THAT TICKET NOW I JUST GOT IN THE MAIL ANOTHER TWO!!!!!! The city needs money in anyway possible They won’t dismiss it they are rubber stamping everyone guilty as charged
I got a ticket for driving in the bus lane because I was passing a few cars (I was not speeding). You can see one of the cars in the picture they sent me- And apparently you can’t drive more than 200 feet in the bus lane…
between crown heights and the ohel, there are 5 red light cameras and at least 2 speed cameras. get with the times SLOW DOWN, DRIVE LIKE A MENTCH.
They should have not been driving in the bus lane for months.
THAT’S NEW YORK FOR YA!
While I agree that it is not right for the tickets to be mailed months after the offenses, anyone who obeyed the signs is not getting any tickets. Sometimes I think dina d’malchusa dina is the most-violated mitzvah.
I know someone who racked up over $8,000 in tickets since March! If they had been issued the first ticket right away then I’m sure they would NOT have continued driving in the bus lane. I guess this is the city’s way of making money 🙁
Also use Waze it will tell u where police are hiding and many useful tips
Is this for people who were unfairly issued tickets and were never in the bus lane?Or for anyone justly issued bus lane tickets?
I drive on Rogers and Nostrand all the time, the signs are there and it’s pretty clear when it is illegal to drive in the bus lane. I’m sure it must be very frustrating to pay an expensive ticket from a few months ago, but I don’t understand how/ why the dot would disregard the tickets. Regardless, I hope you are able to have them disregarded.
There is a newly installed red light camers on Linden Blvd driveing toward the Ohel 2 blocks after Brookdale Hospital.
BEWARE,..,………. BEWARE…… BEWARE……
this was a ploy to increase revenue! otherwise they shud not have waited moths to send out the tickets. if they would have sent out tickets promptly, they would have reached their goal- a clear bus lane! but no, their goal was to make money!
people that break the rules and cry bloody murder
Just got bunch of ‘camera violations’ in the mail for driving on rogers ave a few months back in march and april! what a chutzpah! if they want to stop people from driving in the bus lane, why wait 4 months to issue tickets??? each ticket is $115 a pop. how am i gonna pay for this?! anybody else suffering from this insantiy?
