Participants of a regional Kinus Hashluchim in France this week received doses of inspiration, ideas, suggestions, as well as a sturdy metal hammer.
Not only that, but organizers from Beth Loubavitch of Paris handed out the hammers to Shluchim complete with a set of handy tools in a special black kit.
It was part of the growing initiative among Shluchim worldwide to ‘get back to basics’ and focus on the positive and grassroots work of the 10 Mitzvah campaigns the Rebbe initiated.
The kit is meant to propel Shluchim to expand and promote the mezuzah campaign that Rebbe began in 5734, ensuring that every room in a Jewish home has a mezuzah that will protect its residents.
Mezuzahs and tefillin are often sold at cost price or lower by the Chabad centers scattered around the city’s 20 administrative districts and at Beth Loubavitch on Rue Lamartine.
With growing anti-Semitism in the country, Head Shliach Rabbi Shmuel Azimov has called to intensify efforts of Mivtza Mezuzah in this coming year and his call was well received by the tens of Shluchim present.
The annual convention included davening, learning, lectures and workshops about the ongoing work of Chabad institutions, such as shuls, adult education, youth programs, women’s activities and more.
A guest speaker at the Kinus, and during the banquet that concluded the convention, was Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch and organizer of the regional kinusim.
